This is my coffee table. There are many like it, but this one is mine.


Without my coffee table, I am nothing - and I'd have nothing to rest my feet on.


Without me, my coffee table is nothing (although, it might be happier...)


My coffee table and myself know that what counts in this life is not the TV shows we watch, nor the noise of our stereo. We know that it is the beer that counts. We will drink the beer - the coffee table can have the spillage...


My coffee table is not human, it is furniture, but even so, I value it equally to a person. Thus, I will learn it to value it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses (fire may be among them, so stubbing out fags on it may be a no-no...) , its strengths (how many beers can i stand upon it?), its parts (how many legs does it have? 4???? Ok, question answered...)


I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage (Although that said , I've got a bad ankle, two dodgy knees, and a bad back. Also, I'm not sure my liver is doing all that well either...)


Before God/Allah/Satan/The Easter Bunny, I swear this creed. My coffee table and myself are the centre-piece of my flat. We are the masters of our domain. We like it here, and it likes us.
