The Uganda Shilling Kampala Reviews
The currency of my native land Mar 05, 2009
The currency of my native land is the Uganda "Shilling" it is nothing too fancy but without it my people can not trade let alone survive. It is the formal median of exchange, trade and economic empowerment.
Through the years, the currency denominations and features on it have changed based on who the new President is. The current president seems to be the only one who never saw it fit to have his face engraved on the front of the trading currency. From 1966 when the famous Idid Amin reigned, to Obote the currency had faces of presidents - I never understood the significance but I guess it is a political thing for Heads of States to want to be known.
We currently have a very week currency in my country a 50,000 note is being used, wow!
