The Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa Knysna Reviews
The Turbine : Knysna South Africa Aug 03, 2013
It was Southern Summer 2012 (November 23rd), few friends together took a road trip to Southern Africa, and we started from Johannesburg towards Durban, Plet and the next stop was Knysna.
After few calls and on-line-surfing, we decided to be at the new place, called THE TURBINE.
The Turbine Hotel and Spa is a boutique 5 star Hotel in Knysna which offers an extra special experience being in the heart of everything and at the same time very exclusive.
The hotel in Knysna was situated on Thesen Island which is considered one of the most the prestigious locations on the Garden Route.
The Turbine Hotel and Spa was a project which transformed the old power station into a unique 5 star boutique hotel on the Garden Route with a massive wow factor, that we only relasized as we stepped-inn and started exploring. All the old machinery which was used in this power station has been loving restored and forms an integral part of the hotels aesthetics.
The Turbine Hotel and Spa in Knysna has a host of facilities some of which are mentioned below, if you have any special needs please contact us for more information.
The hotel has three bar areas located in different positions around the hotel each with their own unique setting. The Tapas Bar was located upstairs next to the Island Café; there was an outside deck bar area as well as a Pool deck that overlooks the canal, and we could see all the provate boats passing and the people having fun with BBQ and swims.
The place had two restaurants – The Tapas Bar serving light meals for lunch and dinner. The Island Café – a la carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner with larger seating capacity.
The Spa offered a come nice massage treatments. Whether you are looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience or a feel good stay, Turbine was a great place.
This is to also keep in mind that its not a big hotel, may have limited 20/30 add rooms, but the set-up and the architecture was indeed one of the best.
The Turbine Water Club offered great SA dining from our deli, oysters were from the farm as well from the sea, and a wide variety of activities on both land and the Knysna lagoon.
Overall it was a great experience and we all enjoyed our stay with THE TURBINE.
