The Tran Phu Bridge Nha Trang Reviews
The Tran Phu Bridge Feb 03, 2009
There is not much written about the Tran Phu Bridge ... in English anyway. The structure is more practical than it is impressive but does contribute nicely to the well-planned expansion of a modernizing Nha Trang. The bridge relieves thick traffic from narrow city streets crossing the even narrower Ha Ra and Xom Bong Bridges which also lead traffic to reunite with Highway 1 north of the city.
Located about three miles north from the central beach on Tran Phu Street, the bridge supports four lanes of traffic and two wide red-brick sidewalks spanning the Cai River. Crossing on the westward (inland) side provides nice views of the Nha Trang fishing fleet in home port, the Cai River and its peculiar rock formations, rugged hillsides, the Xom Bong Bridge, the Big Buddha in the distance, and the nearby Po Nagar Towers. If walking from the beach or promenade, you can descend little-used steps and cross Tran Phu Street under the footing of the concrete bridge.
Crossing the Tran Phu Bridge makes for a nice stop on excursions to the Po Nagar Towers, University of Nha Trang, Hon Chong Promontory, or remote beaches north of the city.
