Not much to do here, but down-to-earth people Mar 15, 2009
Newport is where I spent my childhood. It's very small and doesn't have anything for kids to do other than roam the woods. The town center is nothing more than an intersection with stop signs. There are a couple of restaurants, a Giant grocery store, a Ben Franklin store, a couple of other little shops, a bank or two, and a couple of bars. Most of the residents work closer to Harrisburg, driving about 45 minutes to work each way.

There is one elementary school and one high school that houses 7th-12th grades.
