The Three Corners Hotel Palmyra Resort Nabq Reviews
Definitely Not A 4 Star Hotel Aug 16, 2010
The Three Corners Hotel Palmyra Resort has 6 swimming pools, most with pool bars, and two water slides - sounds great to me, love! Unfortunately, for us, that was the end of the good points.
Reception: The guys on reception were more than helpful. The bell boys were fine and checking in/out ran very smoothly. No complaints.
Room: Standard Double. Had a fridge with two bottles of mineral water (which you can fill up from the numerous dispensers around the site), a TV and a Terrace. Let down unfortunately by the plaster coming away from the walls and very poor lighting but overall - not bad. The En Suite was adequate; clean, tidy, again tiles coming away from the walls and strange marks on the ceiling but satisfactory. A Safe was also provided, free of charge.
Restaurants: There are two. Both serve exactly the same food for breakfast and evening meal, only the one opens for lunch. The food is quite frankly appalling. Ive been to 3rd world countries before and this food is simply not acceptable. Well and truly disastrous. The service in both is also terrible - the only place I've been where you are carrying your food to the table and you have to get out of the way of the waiters or be trampled on! Usually the waiters will be standing around not doing much, chatting to each other and not clearing tables. Drinks are self service. One word springs to mind when one thinks of the service: Lazy.
Bars: One in the not-very-air-conditioned lobby and a further small, but nontheless decent, Morgans Bar - air-con, music, comfy seats (unfortunately no smoking ban here though!)Only open from 19:00, too. Numerous pool bars all fine. Also a small disco on site, not for us, but seemed quite good if you are up for partying until sunrise.
Shops: A number of shops selling souvenirs, food, drink, jewellery and a pharmacy - very important.
AI: All inclusive is from 10am-midnight although if you pay extra for Ultra AI you can carry on through the night. Waste of money for us as the heat of the day took its toll and we hit the pillow by 10pm most nights!
Entertainment: The usual cabaret at night, water volleyball/polo, tabletennis etc in the day. Decent, hard working guys and a lot of fun if thats what you want. Plenty of places where its quiet though if you just want to chill out.
Salesmen: You will be pestered round the pools quite a bit to start with on your holiday - massages, skin treatments, trips etc. Just be firm if you dont want to know - they are pushy though, a lot like in Morocco. Be warned.
Other: 24hour delivery service for McDonald's, Burger King and KFC - very tempting because of the food and reasonably priced, too.
Overall, would I stay here again? Never - I can put up with bad food but this was nowhere near that standard. Almost unbelievable.
