The Sunset Cove Live Seafood Restaurant Maribago Reviews
Great place for a meal on the beach. May 21, 2009
The Sunset Cove Live Seafood Restaurant or "The Cove" as it's known, is a great place to relax and catch a nice meal. With an idealic setting and flavorfull dishes you can't go wrong. We visited for lunch on a typical beautiful day. The restaurant sits at the end of a short spur that is surrounded by sparkling blue water. An easy breeze was shifting through the thatched pavillion. Towards the kitchen area are several glass tanks holding what will be your meal. Small grouper, lobster, prawn, scallop, conch and crab all await. Our waiter Dan, was courtious and quick to get us anything we needed. We started out with two styles of scallops: white wine with garlic and buttered. Fantastic! Served on the half-shell, the scallops were tender and savory. A half dozen are p125($2.65). Next I had the Island Conch, served with a creamy wine sauce. It too was delicious. A half dozen cost p135($2.85). All the appetizers were very affordable. Including the prawns. The main dishes were priced differently, mostly by the 100gram. I had the Mud Crab which was p100 per 100gram ($2.12), 600g roughly $12.75. It was excellent, served with a sweet citrus glaze. We each drank a couple beers (San Miquel Lights) which I thought were a little high, p115 ($2.45), but that's my only complaint. The scenery more than made up for it! So on your next visit, stop by for a memorable meal at a very nice restaurant.
