The Stockbridge Tap Edinburgh Reviews
The Stockbridge Tap Nov 05, 2011
The Stockbridge tap is a nice pub with real ales in the Stockbridge neighbourhood of Edinburgh – pretty much exactly as you’d expect from the name. It is pleasantly, if a little blandly, decorated. Prices are about average for the area – that is, very cheap compared to London, but pretty expensive compared to the rest of Scotland. The range of beer is impressive.
Stockbridge itself is a short distance off the tourist and student radars, about fifteen minutes walk from the city centre, and it’s a lovely part of town. The Water of Leith (a small river that runs through the parts of Edinburgh the tourists don’t) runs through the centre, and it’s studded with interesting shops, nice places to eat, and a generally more laid back feeling than much of the town. Popping down into Stockbridge for a beer is a nice break from the tourist treadmill in town.
