Affordable Sunday British Roast at Michelin Star gastro-pub Mar 18, 2011
If you're looking for that special pub out in the idyllic British green countryside that serves Sunday roasts to a high standard, but is not outrageously priced, then The Stagg Inn in Herefordshire is highly recommended. It was in fact the first British pub to receive a Michelin star back in 2001 and it has managed to hold on to that award ever since. Admittedly most of the time the menu is slightly on the expensive side. But if you go on Sunday for lunch then you can indulge in 3 courses for £19.30. Menus change according to season but some courses from the past include chicken liver parfait with apricot and orange preserve for starter; duck leg and breast with poached pear, cider potato fondant for main course, to Blood orange jelly with passion fruit sorbet for pudding.
