There's so much to do! Aug 30, 2009
Always wanted to escape from busy life's hustle and bustle? ... Sure you did! ... A marvellous destination that offers heaps of different activities and places to relax at is the Spreewald, which is a UNESCO biosphere reserve dominated by diverse branches of the River Spree in the south-east of Berlin.

Nature lover and fan of camping holiday? Active holidaymaker and sportsman? Enjoying pampering weekends the most and being a foodie? - It doesn't matter because the Spreewald region, which is known for its extensive irritation system in form of countless channels, has available something for everyone!

Besides of the wet element and landscape formed during the ice-age there exist many forests both on wetlands and sandy ground - therefore dipping into quiet and peaceful surroundings isn't hard at all.

Travellers, who love being on the move will have a few struggles because of the huge amount of enticing things to do! A kind of maze of modern cylce paths ashore and loads of routes for friends of paddling and canoeing offshore please tourists every season. Luxury accommodations, spas and nice restaurants are heaven for tourists with a genetic urge for pure relaxation.

However, what type of traveller you are, you'll have a joyful time surrounded by traditional Slavic villages, whose Sorbian communities still speak their own language, wear beautiful costumes and are interested in preserving their very special culture.

If you like to explore this kind of culture a bit better you shouldn't miss an excursion in the popular punts, a stop at a local museum or a stroll around the weekly market that take place in many towns (don't forget to taste the typical Spreewald gherkins there).

Obviously there's an extremely long list of things you're able to do, to see, to explore, to experience while spending some days in Spreewald locations as Lübben and Lübbenau, Burg and Lehde or Schlepzig and Vetschau. That's why you definitely have to come around and find your own favourite!
Row your boat ...
