The Smile Hotel, Pyay - Myanmar

The Smile Hotel in Pyay did not leave us smiling but luckily
we were only there for one night.  We
were shown two rooms, one bordering on disgusting and the second, more
expensive one, merely dirty and grimy and prison-esque.  We did look elsewhere but the other hotel was
very expensive and so we ended up staying at the Smile.  The staff were nice enough but the obsequious
manager who constantly smiled (maybe that is where they get the name) was
somewhat annoying.  Our room had three
rock hard beds and looked somewhat like a prison cell and the bathroom (see the
picture in the blog entry of the plumbing) was scary.  Breakfast even managed to suck here too –
cold eggs that had been pre prepared, Tang and bad coffee.  Yumm! 
Pyay is not the highlight of Burma by any means – get out
quickly.
