The Shark on the Harbor Restaurant Ocean City Reviews
The Shark on the Harbor Oct 15, 2012
We stumbled upon this place in the search for a decent seafood restaurant that was actually open on a weekday during the Ocean City offseason. It sits on a pier that requires walking up a flight of steps to enter. Large windows look out over the inlet, though the rain and darkness obscured our view. As their name suggests, a shark theme dominates the decor - a large screen on the far wall showed episodes from the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch. The furnishings were rather upscale despite the casual attire of the diners. A bar takes up the center of the restaurant.
There is no set menu since the food is dependent on the day's catch. The waitress, who was very friendly, boasted that they use all local and organic produce (I have no way to verify this, so I will take her word for it). I ordered two large crabcakes which came with brown rice and squash. The rice was rather boring, but the crabcakes were huge, delicious, and filling, coming with tarter sauce and a mix of chopped tomatoes and red onions. Another member of my party ordered a steak burger and fries which she enjoyed. There is also a children's menu available.
I reccomend the Shark on the Harbor with the caveat that it is located in West Ocean City across the inlet from the heart of town. It was worth the drive over the bridge with a few other restaurants in the same vicinity.
