The SWISS Pub
The SWISS Pub Reviews
a little bit of everything Apr 14, 2008
The SWISS is a cool spot, huge variety of beer and drinks, and a good menu for food. I had the French Dip and just loved it, and the other food we had was also good. Chihuly glass pieces and other cool memorabilia and abstract items make the experience more enjoyable. Pool Tables, Stage for bands to play, all sorts of stuff there and Wi-Fi as well... to much to explain, just a cool place.
food pics available soon, sorry... check out my corresponding journal for the day(seattle blog: day 3 erins visit) to see additional photos and more info on my SWISS experience... Part of the Seattle and the Puget Sound Region of Washington State - USA travel blog |

Food, Ale, and a Little Chihuly on the Side! Apr 14, 2008
The Swiss Pub is one of the stops on the Chihuly Walk of Glass exhibits in Tacoma. From the outside, it looks like your average pub. Inside, what a visual treat! Apart from the permanent collection of Chihuly pieces on display above the main bar, the pub has one of the most eclectic displays of art I've seen. Many local artists are featured and we were told some of the pieces (the accordians were some) are from Chihuly's own personal art collection that he has run out of room to display.
In addition, the Swiss Pub has two other rooms connected to the main part - one has a stage for live music and beyond that is another room with pool tables! And they have free wi-fi too! Food is ordered at the walk up counter and brought to your table. We ended up sitting at the bar and talking to a few of the regulars who all seemed very nice. 35 beers on tap (they had Smithwick's too...finding that twice in one weekend...WOW). Their menu is quite an interesting mix and there's something for everyone on it! We opted for sandwiches since it was lunchtime. I tried the Italian sub ($6.95) and I believe Shane had the Swiss Dip ($6.75).....at least I think so. He inhaled it so quickly, I don't quite remember! LOL. And as Shane pointed out in his review, we were terrible foodies (sorry Mel!) and remembered we didn't take pics of the food until Shane's sandwich was long gone! Oooops! The food was excellent and I love the decor in this place. Definitely coming back next time I am in Washington! Part of the A Long Weekend in Sunny Seattle (Apr 08) travel blog

The Swiss Pub! Hmmmm....fooooooooood. :-) We walked in and I absolutely fell in love with this place - it had a warehouse, funky vibe feel! There were some Chihuly pieces above the bar and some very interesting art work throughout. The place was huge… Chihuly Walk of Glass |
