The Ruby Lounge
The Ruby Lounge Manchester Reviews
The Ruby Lounge Oct 23, 2011
The Ruby Lounge is a small gig venue in the centre of Manchester, with club nights sometimes. It’s just opposite the Arndale.
For a venue just opposite the arndale, it’s surprisingly loveable. Down a little flight of stairs (aren’t they all?) the Ruby Lounge is full of mismatched furniture, sofas, and a bright red disco ball which is the only one of my photos to come out. We were there to see Sons and Daughters, supported by Peggy Sue, both very good bands.
The bar is friendly and big enough to keep the queues down, although when we were there it was pretty quiet anyway. The toilets are clean – I am getting to the age when I really appreciate that!
The sound quality is good for a tiny venue, and there is lots of space.
