Oct 17, 2006 The Royal White Elephant Hotel For our second and third stays in Yangon, we stayed at The Royal White Elephant Hotel which was definitely nicer than the Central Hotel (see review at http://www.travbuddy.com/reviews/2558). It is not as centrally located, but close to the airport and walking distance to the pretty Lake Inya, a great place to hang by the water and have a Myanmar Beer or three. The rooms are definitely upscale and nicely furnished with air conditioning and televisions and a hysterical list of charges for damaging or stealing just about anything in the room. The restaurant is actually quite good and the breakfast buffet was really good too. Overall a great place to stay in Yangon. http://www.rwehotel.com  Part of the South East Asia 2006 travel blog

Our new Yangon hotel, The Royal White Elephant, is definitely
upscale and nicer than the Central Hotel if a little quirky. Funny hotel signs
listing rules and a laundry list of charges were posted on the door, as well as
labels for Bath
towels, Face towels, etc. everywhere… Back in Yangon |
