The Royal Hotel Bath Description
Brunel, the famous English architect of the time, designed the hotel for the arrival of the railway in Victorian times. The Royal prefix was bestowed upon the hotel as a reminder of Queen Victoria's visit to the city of Bath. The hotel was originally named the Royal Station Hotel and commenced trading in 1846. In 1852, because of the growing influence of rail travel and the hotel’s close proximity to the station, an upper-level footbridge was built, directly linking the first floor of the hotel with the s...(see more)
