The Royal Glasgow Concert Hall Reviews
The Royal Glasgow Concert Hall Nov 06, 2011
The Royal Glasgow Concert Hall is a mid-sized venue, smaller than I was expecting. It’s easy to find, right outside Glasgow Queen Street Station and near the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre. It has excellent sound quality, comfortable seats and is, all in all, a great venue to see a concert.
It has a mix of concerts and gigs, and there are great sight lines for the stage. It’s smaller than many “royal” halls, which means that the gigs feel more intimate than you’d expect. The facilities are great. The corridors are wide enough to move, so the bars don’t feel too crowded, and there are bars at each level so you can get served in the interval. The staff are all very nice. It’s worth bearing in mind that only the bars on the main level take cards, so you will need to get some cash out. The toilets are spotless. The only faint criticism is that although I know there must be disabled access, I didn’t see it.
