Above average in everything, including linen, silverware, and crystal. May 19, 2011
One of the nine restaurants at John Ascuaga’s Nugget is this very nice Rotisserie Buffet. First, yes it is a buffet, but from there, no it is not like nearly any buffet you have ever dined at previously. This is top of the mark style, including linen napkins, very nice silverware crystal water goblets, and a young lady who keeps your drink order filled, clean napkins coming, and would even fetch you your food if you asked. But the fun part of this meal is to peruse the buffet line which is double sided, you walk down the middle and grab whatever you wish from either side, try not to make an absolute pig of yourself. There are so many options for the salad section that you could easily overeat yourself just in that section. And the choices are quite upscale and fancy. Then the main section with meats, side dishes, vegetables, etc. that are truly succulent looking. And at the very back is the cutting area, where you can have the chef cut you your own personal slices of the meats available. For desert there is an entire area devoted to cakes, pies, custards, sorbets, ice cream, etc. and a server who will cut a piece or scoop you a serving of whatever your tongue desires. We have eaten there several times and have never been let down by either the food, which is always fabulous, or the service, which is always impeccable. It is not cheap, but not expensive either. A good price for such a grand meal.

Little things make the difference in buffets in Reno and Sparks, Nevada. Nearly all have a great selection, very good food, and outstanding service.

From the moment you begin your meal here you will notice some of those little things. Like the fruit, canatalope and melons, which are trimmed of any skin and pulp.

Much of the food at the buffets are more easily picked up and eaten with your fingers. At this buffet you do not just napkins at your linen table-clothed table, but also the small hand wipes.
