Drinking on the roof (The Roof Bar & Restaurant) Jul 07, 2009
The Roof is another bar that I choose to get some drink, get drunk and get younger on Kaosarn Road. If you know me, now you will see that my love isn't only Hippie Hi bar! :)
This sqaure bar is on the third floor, the roof. Ok, it's not an open air bar but they set the name as it's on the top floor and you see Kaosarn Road from there. (well, just from one side) The nice thing is the bands. They start since 6-7pm if I remember and change again around 8-9pm. If you don't want to meet tourists, don't go :) There's a lot. If you want to talk to friends, don't go - music is too loud by the band and the new singers (yes all of customer will sing!). If you want to eat a good food, don't go because I think their food isn't delicious ;) But if you want to drink, to sing, to enjoy good music and you don't care that there's tourist or local but you just want to drink, please go! The cost i set it as expensive because it's expensive than the other bars on Kaosarn Road. But of course it's cheaper than the beer from Europe, US or some other Asian countries. One beer there is 100THB, other bars on KSR is about 60-80THB for a small bottle. And don't order the water. It's almost 2 pounds there! :) Because they don't want you to drink water, they want you to drink beer! Cocktail is about 180-200THB per glass. If you want to try Thai rum in the bucket, they also have it! :) If you plan to stay in Bangkok for many days or weeks, just set one night trip there and try! |

The entire roof is a restaurant and bar. I had a couple of beers while the sun set (and the lights of the city came on) and enjoyed the scenery (I wouldn't have complained if they had switched the kind of music from jazz to something… Chinatown and a breathtaking view |
