The Roller Coaster at New York, New York Las Vegas Reviews
A roller coaster with a twist...(and a loop)! Jun 16, 2011
The Roller Coaster at New York, New York in Las Vegas is a traditional roller coaster in that the riders sit in cars that run on twin tracks.
Riders board the New York cab style cars from inside the hotel and as the ride starts they are carried outside the building and the great climb begins. The climb seems to go on and on and eventually, at it's full height, the view down the strip is momentarily spectacular. There isn't long to admire it however because as the ride turns to the front of the hotel it begins to plummet steeply downwards. After that it is all a whirlwind. The ride speeds along and dips and rises in line with the strip, then there is a full 360 degree loop. Then you take in an inverted twist and you lose all orientation. Following this there are several sharp turns and more steep rises and falls before the ride ultimately takes you back inside the hotel to disembark.
In pure roller coaster terms this maybe isn't the highest or fastest or most thrilling, but it is a very decent ride and the views along the strip, and the fact that it has a bit of everything, loops, twists, turns and drops - and of course the fact that it runs inside the hotel all add up to make this great fun. Highly recommended!
