Romantic Sunsets Nov 04, 2009
The Rock is a bar/restaurant that is part of the Ayana Resort property. To get to it you have to ride an inclinator down to the beach. The views of the sunset from the Rock are really nice, but get here early if you want a table on the top deck where the bar is and which offer the best views.
We didn't order any food, just drinks. We were here just for the sunset. Drinks are very expensive, too. I had a daiquiri and Asri had a Bailey's. They were about 11USD each, so you definitely pay for the view. But the sunset is not the only view. You can get some great pictures of the high bluffs along the coast and also watch the jets flying into the airport from a distance. The Rock is complety open with no shade from the sun, so they do offer umbrellas...which you have to rent. It doesn't cost anything to visit the Rock. You can actually stay down on the lower decks without ordering anything. But if you are on top, I think they require you to order something.

It was very hot and muggy on arrival at the Denpasar Airport. I stood in line at the customs/immigration desk for quite some time-- only to find I was in the wrong line. I should have been in the short line with the Indonesian Nationals,…… Bali, at last! |

I absolutely love this place! Our room has a panoramic view of the wonderful tree filled hills - it's amazing to wake up to this lush loveliness. (Can't get used to all the bugs and geckos though ...apparently geckos are good luck but th…… I LOVE LOVE LOVE UBUD!!! |
