Luxury with a view of the ocean Sep 05, 2008
I was highly impressed with this hotel and of all the hotels I stayed in, this one was right up there with the best!
Centrally located in heart of Durban, easy to find, tastefully decorated, oustanding service and a spa too :D What more could you ask for? I enjoyed my stay here at many different levels - the hotel cafe was reasonably priced, the waiters entertaining and the food was smashing! If you didn't want to eat at the hotel, they had three other restaurant and bars on the premises - Mojo's was quite nice, where that had live entertainment on Friday night, small yet well designed with clean, contemporary finishes. The bartender was hilarious! Now for the best part - my room. Upon entering, there's a mini kitchen with a microwave and fridge (for self catering), the big screen LCD TV had a welcome message with my name on it, which was quite novel. The room was classic blend of modern, contemporary designs. The bathroom was standard with a bath and shower but they had little boxes with all sorts of things in it - shower cap, needle and thread, band aids etc... the bath wash smelled divine. The service was also impeccable, giving them laundry to do on Saturday morning and having it all done by the afternoon - considering I was leaving the next day. Just goes to prove the devil is in the details. All in all, my choice of accommodation when in Durban again! |

To try one last sail boat lead, we met up with Roy, who had been recommended to us as a possible contact by a Durban sailing Club. He was a lovely man, wanting very hard to help us, but conceding the relative unlikeliness of finding a boat that late…… Leaving Durban |

We spent a few days at a game reserve, talking about creation versus evolution, and learning a lot about the flood as well. Robert Zimm, who knows the Bible cover to cover and verse by verse, engaged us in some wonderful deep theological discu…… SA part 2 |
