Soi 18 Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand
The Rendevous Bangkok Reviews
Great food, convenient, and very cheap! Oct 09, 2011
The Rendevous is only a very small cafe/restaurant, located half way down Sukhumvit Soi 18, directly across from The Rembrandt Hotel.
You can sit both inside and outside - outside under straw huts which remind you of an island get-a-way, or inside on very nice wooden furniture, which is quite comfortable. Both areas are small, the whole restaurant would hold a max of 20-25 people. Inside is decorated with lots of pictures of the King, and lots of Thai artifacts. They have a big screen TV, but I have rarely seen this on. They also have free wifi for customers.
The food is delicious - the menu offers both Thai and western meals, at very cheap prices. Pad Thai Gai is only 100 baht, and Chicken Pasta with cream sauce and vegetables only 140 baht. I have never been disappointed with any of the meals. They also serve a wide rang of drinks, including cocktails, and all at very cheap prices too - Malibu and pineapple juice is only 90 baht! They also do take-a-way, and food is prepared very quickly - about a 5 minute wait for the pasta!!
The service is great too! Owned and run by a really nice and friendly Thai family - they are always smiling, and happy to help. They also teach me how to speak Thai when the place is not so busy.
It is in such a convenient location for me, that I eat here several days a week, whether lunch or dinner, or a late breakfast on the weekends.
