The Red Inn Georgetown Reviews
Not really Clean Nov 15, 2012
The Red Inn- We paid 70 RM a night for a two person bunk room with shared bathroom. The aircon unit didn’t work properly and did a pretty poor job of cooling the room. The room itself was ok. With a double frosted window and bamboo blind. The shared bathrooms were 3 in number with two doubling up with western WC’s. All of them had something broken in them either leaking waste pipes on sinks, leaking cistern and shower heads without mounts on wall and no soap for washing hands.
We had initially booked 7 nights but left after 3 as we on the third it be became apparent that we had an out break of bedbugs! We both suffered badly with painful bites and on investigation found and photographed the offending insects. We drew this to the attention of the reception manager first thing in the morning providing her with the physical evidence. She gave an instant refund of our outstanding nights. She also let us leave our backpacks as we had to look for alternative accommodation. She said she was surprised as this had never happened before and that the room was always busy. However we have since seen an earlier report of this happening on Tripadvisor. We also noticed a lot of people check out after one night and go to neighbouring hostels.
