The Queen's Hall Edinburgh Reviews
Queen's Hall Aug 12, 2012
The Queen’s Hall is a nice gig venue close to the university in Edinburgh. As a general rule, it tends towards classical music, but it also programmes some rock, pop or comedy from time to time. I’m reviewing the venue, rather than the gig I saw there.
It’s a small to medium sized venue, with excellent acoustics. I think it was originally a church, which often helps with atmosphere and acoustics, but I’m not sure. If you’re going to a seated gig, the centre stalls and balconies have good sight lines but not all the seats at the side of the stalls do; booking online will let you choose seats.
There is a nice bar with local beer at it. Getting decent beer at a gig can often be tricky, so I definitely gave them bonus points for that. The staff were all very friendly and nice.
All in all, this is a good place to go and see something interesting.
