Best ladyboy show on the Island! Sep 27, 2011
I stayed at Koh Tao for 10 days over the Christmas period of 2010. On Christmas eve, after having dinner at our Resort, my friends and I took a stroll through the streets of Sairee Beach. We crossed paths with a extravagantly dressed lady boy who handed us a flyer to the Cabaret show she performs in every night. Not a fan of Ladyboy shows, we decided to check it out anyway, as it looked like a whole lot of fun, and it turned out to be one of the best nights I had whilst on the island.

Situated on one of the main streets leading to the beach, The Queens Cabaret looks nothing special from the outside, and there is a big curtain blocking the view of the bar from the street.

The show was very entertaining, from the energetic dance routines to the glamour and the costumes. The ladyboys pranced around the stage lip synching to all kinds of songs - Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Beyonce, Lady Gaga just to name a few. Throughout the entire show, the audience is on their feet - singing, clapping, laughing, cheering - it really is just brilliant. Some of the dancers are just men dressing as girls, and others have had the full boob job and snip'n'tuck. They all look amazing - with their extravagant makeup and fancy costumes. The dancers interact with the audience throughout the show also, which is very funny. At the end of the show, they ask for volunteers who are taken back-stage, and get dressed up to perform alongside the girls for the final number.

Very cheap entry - only 200baht per customer, plus a free drink, or if you don't want to pay the entry free, you must buy 2 drinks. Very cheap for the entertainment provided. The lively colourful show lasts just over an hour and leaves the audience wanting more. The only downside - it said the show started at 10pm, but they waited until the place was almost full of people before commencing, so it didn't actually start until almost 11pm.
