Expensive but wonderful. Oct 27, 2013
We rented one of the 1 bedroom cabin in the resort for and were not disappointed. Two hot tubs and incredible views from our porch. It was wonderful that we were near the southern entrance to the national park, so you don't have to go through Gatlinburg traffic to get to a hike or a swimming hole, but you are close enough that you can get to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge attractions with a short drive, but the view is absolutely BREATHTAKING. Just as on the website. I will be back for sure.

not too shabby at Cedar Groves Preserve Resort Aug 12, 2012
We had a group of 11 (mostly family) that stayed at 2828 Cedar Groves cabin. Upon arrival to check in at 3:30p, our cabin was not ready and were told it could be a while. This was little frustrating after being in a vehicle for 7 hours, however we received a text around 4:15p and were in our cabin then. Upon getting to the cabin, ours had a rather big section of shingles (about 3-4 foot) missing which was right above the hot tub. When telling the office About this, the girl said they hadn't had time to fix it because of not enough time in between tenants and was caused from the bad storms. Luckily, it only rained one morning when we weren't in the hot tub because it did leak right on it! The other thing was the man who cleaned the cabin just left a bag of garbage sitting outside! It wasn't put in the container!

Once inside, the cabin was very clean and spacious and had a beautiful view. It was quiet and peaceful even with neighbors on both sides. There were 3 floors with 3 balconies and a loft with a futon bed. (which no one would use, including the kids) The kitchen was fully equipped with pots, pans, silverware for 6 people, glasses, mugs and cooking utensils. Two bedrooms had king sized beds and there were queen sofa sleepers on each floor for a total of 3 plus the futon, being able to sleep 12. The uncomfortable pullout queen sleepers made for sleepless nights. The sleepers were so uncomfortable that even the teenage boy in our group chose to just sleep on the couch part instead of pulling out the beds. We ended up not using the loft futon because the 10 and 7 year olds refused to use it because it was dusty. It would have been used if it wasn't so heavy to move out of the loft, even for the guys.

The furniture was in good condition and the games which included air hockey, fooseball and a pool table were also in good condition. The hot tub was clean but became smelly on the 5th day. It may have needed new chlorine.

There wasn't much privacy as there were only doors to the bathrooms and only on the downstairs bedroom. I would stay here again but some of my family wouldn't. It was a nice experience overall though.
