On the beach, comfortable, friendly Oct 06, 2009
Located on the beach around 10 minutes walk from town, this hostel is fantastic.

The dorms are large, clean, comfortable and have lockers for valuables. Beds are more like queen size than single and sheets are clean. Free towels are available on request.

The private cabins are located away from the main hostel and are basic, without hot water, with a balcony and right on the beach (50 steps from the sea). The dorms are MUCH better value.

There's 24 hour hot water in the main hostel, free internet on the single PC from 12pm-12am and free breakfast. An on-site cafe/bar provides tasty meals, with big portions, but are more expensive than going into town.

The managers Julio and Juan are really fun and helpful and speak excellent English. The pool is large, clean and there's a good area for sunbathing and relaxing. Hammocks are dotted around and there's plenty of space to chill out.

This is described as a party hostel but evenings wound up around midnight (during our stay anyway). Music is played all throughout the day, but it's a good mix of all genres, so it'll make most people happy.

If you want silence 24/7, this is not the place for you, but if you want to relax, with great company and in a fun environment, you'll love it here. I will definitely return, Mancora is awesome.

I'm traveling here in a few weeks! I'm very excited about this trip, staying for 2 weeks. Although I don't know Spanish yet--I'm ready to learn :) Hope you had fun, sounds like an exciting place and I'm ready to travel!
Thanks for the comment.
