A Good Place to Stay in Petra Apr 30, 2015
This hotel is a bit distant from the Petra tourist site. A bus ride or taxi ride will take you several minutes to get there. The hotel is built on a road with little around the site that you could walk to. We found the room of the room to be unsatisfactory. There was a smell of either a backed up sewer or rotting animal permeated the room every time we entered. We had to have a window open to clear out the smell. The bathroom sink was never really cleaned well and we found some mold in the bathroom. The room was nicely appointed and the bed was comfortable. There are several restaurants which are decent.

Nice but not necessary Jan 30, 2010
Small for a Marriott, it did not live up to Marriott standards. While the rooms were wonderful, some of the staff was questionable and they had a few maintenance issues. The only tummy trouble we encountered on our whole trip was after a dinner here. There are two restaurants, one with an excellent breakfast selection, and a nice lobby bar although we had unpleasant experiences both nights with the wait staff. Smoking is allowed in the lobby.

There are a few gift shops in the lobby and we found them priced competitively with other shops in Wadi Musa.

It does have beautiful views of the desert.

It is a taxi ride from town where all the restaurants and activity are.

As with all the Marriotts we stayed in - it was due to our special deal on the friends & family plan - otherwise out of our budget.

Nice after a long day in Petra Nov 29, 2010
It's great to have a nice hotel after spending 1-3 days in Petra. Going to the spa after 7 hours walk is just wonderful! The beds are comfortable (like every marriott hotel) .

The hotel is on the hill close to Petra. You have to take one of the bus of the hotel to go to the Ancient City or use your own rented car (free parking close to the entry of the old city)

The view is really nice from the room (desert view).

There's an outside pool.

The breakfast buffet is really good (mix of western and jordanian food) and will get you all of the stength for a long day!

Expensive Mar 28, 2008
Like every other Marriott, Petra Marriott is nicely decorated, clean, in a great location. Is far from town and from the entrance to Petra but is has great views of the mountains. Since is far from town, you will probably order room service which serves decent food (but obviously expensive).

Overall is a good place and i recommend it only if you can afford it.
