The stunning lushness of Uganda's national parks combined with spectacular landscapes, provides the setting for some of Africa's most memorable visitor experiences. Here is why:

THE WORLD'S GREATEST WATERFALL

Murchison falls is the centerpiece of Murchison falls National Park and the final event of an 80km stretch of rapids. At Murchison Falls, the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge and plunges with a thunderous roar into the "Devil's Cauldron", creating a trademark rainbow.

This stretch of river provides one of Uganda's most remarkable wildlife spectacles. Regular visitors to riverbanks include, elephants, giraffes and buffaloes; while hippos, Nile crocodiles and aquatic birds are permanent residents.

THE WORLD'S LARGEST MOUNTAIN CALDERA

Mount Elgon at 4000km square has the largest volcanic base in the world. Its vast form, 80km in diameter rises 3000m above the surrounding plains.

It is home to over 300 species of birds, including the endangered Lammergeyer.Small antelopes, forest monkeys, elephants and buffaloes also live on the mountain side.

THE PRIMATE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

Kibale National Park has the highest biomass per hectare of primates recorded o earth. The park boasts of 13 species of primates.

It is also home to over 300 species of birds.

A MEDLEY OF WONDERS

The tree climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park are the most common tourist attraction in the park. The lions reside within the endless Ishasha plains always to be found hiding on fig trees ready to pounce on herds of unsuspecting Ugandan Kob.

Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse ecosystem, which include sprawling savanna, shady humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds.

THE ULTIMATE GORILLA EXPERIENCE

Bwindi National Park is known to contain 70% of the Mountain Gorilla in the world. It is known to have largest population of Graver's gorilla and apes on earth.
