The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg Reviews
Going Nuts in Williamsburg Sep 21, 2009
Peanuts have been cultivated in Virginia since the mid-19th Century and Virginia Peanuts continue to be widely grown today. If you like peanuts, The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg is the place to try traditional roasted peanuts and contemporary variations.
The Peanut Shop is a Williamsburg institution.
All manner and varieties of peanuts are sold here. You can find honey roasted, Wasabi, sea salt, Old Bay Seasoning, spicy, unsalted, and cholocate covered peanuts (and I haven't thought of all of them). The shop offers free samples of most of the varieties. (Open cans are out for nibbling.) Cashews and other nut varieties are here as well.
It's not just nuts, either. The Peanut Shop offers specialty candies, jams, jellies, spices, and sauces. Virginia ham, too.
The store is near the Historic Area and it's fun to stop in to sample. We find it a great place to buy food gifts to take back for family, friends, and the office.
