The Paradosiko Alykes Reviews
Traditional Taverna Oct 28, 2009
The Paradosiko stands out from almost all the other restaurants for retaining it's traditional feel.
Situated on the road between Alykes and Alykanas, it is an easy 10 minute walk from the centre of both villages.
It is set back off the road, and while we were here in autumn they have screens to keep out the chill. in the summer the restaurant will be more open.
Been numerous times and never had a bad meal in the place.
We were seated and served quickly with drinks, and allowed plenty time to go through the menu without feeling presssured.
In the end the starters were simple :-D Four portions of saganaki(fried cheese), and it was delicious. You will get a lemon(or occasionally a lime) to squeeze over the cheese to give it a bit of a sharp taste.
For the main courses I had Lamb Kleftiko, the wife had a Greek plate(souvlaki, pitta, tzatsiki, feta and salad),my daughter went for the Soutsoukakia (meatballs) and my son went for the spaghetti with prawns. Everyone enjoyed there own choice, and all along the girl attending to us ensured we had enough drinks to keep us going.
The kids had some ice cream to finish off, well they were on their holidays now.
At the end of the day the bill came to €70,which is very reasonable for the four of us.
Really good choice for our first night, with the laid back atmosphere heightened with traditional Greek music playing in the background
