The Olympia Lodge Manchester Reviews
Great family retreat Mar 29, 2014
N43°12.061' W73°1.741' The former German owners crossbreed a Swiss ski chalet with an American motel in Manchester VT and the new owners made this 24 room B&B into a cosy family retreat with a home stay feeling. The personal life of the owners are on display everywhere and although they live upstairs, actually they live downstairs with their guests. Regular guests are part of the family and walk into the kitchen, serving and entertaining new guests. Children of the owners and the guests all play together. It's one big happy family in Olympia Lodge, but there is no obligation to be part of it.
During our 3-night stay in August 2013 we slept in room 23 in the back overlooking a meadow with pool and tennis court. The room itself is clean and modest decorated, with bath/shower, TV and window air conditioner. The large queen size bed slept really well. Wi-Fi reception was good downstairs, but poor in the room.
Breakfast is served downstairs in the dining room. The owners don't offer elaborate breakfast menu, but the regular eggs, pancakes, omelettes and sausages, with are really very good. Don't expect bacon met the eggs, because the owner won't prepare it. Just a family thing, you know.
In the evening downstairs the owners open the bar and guests enjoy the comfort of the living room with a drink. In de weekends regular guests prepare snacks. It's just one big happy family in Olympia Lodge.
