Opened in the early 1980’s by a couple from Germany, the Old Stein Inn offers a relaxing dining experience. The restaurant is divided into smaller rooms with only a few tables in each one; during nice weather patrons can also sit outside. Some evenings a strolling musician provides entertainment. The food was excellent. Our appetizer of crab dip was a little small (they did serve bread as well), but the main courses were large. I really enjoyed the mix of vegetables (mushrooms, asparagus, peppers, onions), spatzle (noodles) and chicken in my dish, the Gemuse “Vegetable” platter (possible to get without meat). The drinkers in our group liked the long beer list. Although we did not partake of any desserts (too full), they looked delicious. In the fall they offer an additional menu in honor of Oktoberfest.
