The Old Naval Hospital of Port Royal Reviews
A fabulous place Apr 23, 2011
There are quite a few wonderful buildings in Port Royal; almost all of them are really hurt by time.
For me was the Old Naval Hospital of Port Royal was a gem; it was almost falling apart but it was situated on one of the nicest spots of Port Royall. We managed briefly to get in the premises because of a broken luck and we enjoyed what we managed to see before the caretaker saw us and asked us to leave.
The Royal Navy Hospital was built in 1819. It is made from prefabricated cast iron as one of the first buildings ever. It withstood the 1907 earthquake and the 1951 hurricane. It now houses the Conservation and Research Centre.
