The Now Hotel Jomtien Reviews
Very Modern, affordable and right on the beach! Apr 08, 2014
My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our last trip to Jomtien Beach in Pattaya. We found the hotel on agoda.com (as we do most of our hotels) and it was good value for money (approx 2000 baht per night ($60) - and this was a discounted price).
We drove our car to Pattaya, and found it quite hard to get to Jomtien beach (perhaps because I was taking directions from husband hehe), but once we got there, it was very easy to find the hotel - located on the main beach road in Jomtien, it was located right across from the beach. There was also plenty of parking on the side of the hotel, very convenient! The hotel is also a very short walk to other restaurants and cafes, and you can catch a song tao (taxi) to Walking Street and Main Beach Rd and markets for about 20 baht. It is also a well known hotel so getting back is not a problem either, however it costs about 100 baht per person to get back.
The hotel had a very modern and fancy restaurant overlooking the beach (too bad there was the main road in-between), and very comfy cain & wooden furniture. We ate some snacks at the restaurant, and of course had a couple of drinks - very good food, although it did take some time to get it... i think I had finished 3 cocktails before our food came. There is also a pool table, but it was missing a couple of balls, so we played snooker instead. We noticed some of the Thai staff playing pool when no one was around, and they enjoyed watching us when we played - they were very friendly. The hotel lobby has lots of nic-nacs around the place - teddy bears, cushions, statues - very Thai indeed.
Checking in was very easy, and we were served a delicious welcome drink upon arrival. The lady who helped us spoke excellent English, and then a very polite young man helped carry our bags to our room, and made sure it was all satisfactory before he left.
The room was amazing, and extremely modern and unique. The bed was big, and very comfy. There was one woven lounge, which was a little uncomfortable, but not so important as it wasn't a necessity for us. There was a slight view of the beach from our room, but we had booked a side room, so weren't expecting much. The bathroom was big and of course modern, and everything looked brand new. The shower/bath were combined, and there was a big frosted glass window which overlooked the bedroom (and there was also a screen you could pull down if you wanted some more privacy). There was one problem with the shower - the water went everywhere, and after each of us had showered there was a big puddle of water on the bathroom floor - hard to avoid. Towels were big and new, and there was also a hair dryer available. Mini bar also which contained chocolates, nuts, beer, soft drinks, fruit juice and spirits. Water was free. Everything in the mini bar was also reasonably priced, which I was not expecting from a modern hotel.
Buffet breakfast was included in the room price, and very yummy. A mixture of Thai and Western cuisine, and all looked fresh - not like it had been sitting out since 5am.
A great hotel, and I would definitely stay there again, and of course have recommended it to our Bangkok friends.
