The New York Helmsley

First let me say that I would never consider staying at a hotel as expensive as this for leisure travel. But lucky for me, I get to travel to places like NYC for work on occasion and one of the perks is staying at nice hotels.

The location couldn't have been better as it is only a few blocks from Grand Central Station. The hotel itself was very luxurious. My room was big, very clean and very comfortable! I had free wi-fi service in my room as well. The staff was very friendly and helped me find some great restaurants to check out during my limited free time.

This is where we spent our wedding night in March 2006. It's a very nice hotel near Grand Central Station. Professional staff, very friendly and helpful. It's the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in probably due to the higher price. ;) There are a couple of Helmsley Hotel in New York City, including the one by Central Park, which we simply couldn't afford. The hotel comes complete with house bar, 24 h concierge and the guy that brings your suitcases to your room. The room and bathroom were very nice and clean. The furniture looked expensive so it probably was. We could also see the Chrysler building from our room window. I think the lady at the front desk hooked us up after she saw us walk in looking all sharp in our wedding outfits. I'm rather sure that this place is mainly used by business people that like it on the fancy side. :-)

None the less perfect for a special stay!
