They stemmed the fires Feb 14, 2017
I have mixed feelings about st Pauls Cathedral. It looks great from outside, but is disappointing inside. I would not part with one penny of the exorbitant fee charged to enter it nowadays!

Facing the south side of St Pauls, there is a monument to the firefighters who helped put out the fires during the Blitzkrieg during the 1940s.

It is not great sculpture, but it is eye-catching, and worth examining. You can spend some of the time that would have wasted inside St Pauls by standing close to the monument and reading its interesting wording.
