Westernization of Japan Mar 20, 2008
There are some tourist attractions in Inuyama, but first of all I recommend this museum to you in my city. Japan had become westernized since about 150 years ago. Nowadays nobody knows the hardship our grandparents generation had come through. You will be surprised to see so many stately western-style buildings in this open air museum. In the 1960s, economic growth was the highest priority in Japan. Many historical important buildings in big cities were about to demolish. Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. established a foundation to preserve these buildings in 1962. They moved and reconstructed the historical buildings and opened this museum in 1965. Some buildings were designated important cultural properties. These buildings are used as shooting on location in a historical play.
