Affordable, Laid-back Cafe in Perth Mar 28, 2010
There aren't a great deal of places to go out in Perth - they are few and far between. But if you are looking for a cruisey night out, or somewhere to go before/after a big night out, The Moon is the place to go. Even if it is just to casually mention that you are "going to The Moon."

It's located near the 'Chinatown' end of William Street in Perth City, and you can find more details here http://www.themoon.com.au/.

The Moon is a late night cafe, one of the only eateries that serves past midnight in the hopping town that is Perth. The atmosphere is tres laid back. As you enter there are booths and tables next to a bar, and further in is the 'lounge room' - different opshop styled couches with little tables for your comfort.

Strange and funky art work litters the walls, the drinks menu is on old record cases, and the water comes in Smirnoff bottles. There are often alternative/punk/laid-back hippy bands playing at the cafe. The food is great- I would highly recommend any of the burgers. However, if you aren't that hungry, share whatever you buy - the meals are huge! The desserts are also amazing - if you have never tried a dessert pizza, this is the place to do it.

Drinks menu is extensive, great cocktails (though pricey, so be careful) and of course all your general beers and spirits. The Moon is open for lunch and dinner most days.

Overall The Moon has a great atmosphere, and is a great place to kick back and relax. I hear their apple pie is amazing too.
