Amazing monument Jul 22, 2008
The monument over the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising is a remarkable statue. It is pretty big and portrays huge figures of soldiers fighting or escaping attack. It stands in front of the military cathedral and is one of the most important symbols of Warsaw.
Many consider this monument to be controversial, as it is said to be to pretentious and twisting the truth about the uprising. The monument is placed near to the former entrance to underground sewage, that the Home Army soldiers was forced to use in order to move around the area. Part of the Poland 2008 travel blog |
