The Metropolitan Collegiate Church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Aleksy in Tum erected in the 12th century is considered to be the largest and best preserved Romanesque basilica in Poland. The shrine has been built of granite sett and sandstone used in corners.

The main entrance has been ornamented with a beautiful, lavishly carved offset portal made of sandstone, witch leads into its interior with many well preserved, valuable, medieval elements (wall paintings, tombstones etc.)
