The Matogianni Hotel Mykonos
The Matogianni Hotel Mykonos Reviews
Central location: quiet rooms Dec 19, 2008
David and I had the reservations made in Athens for this room...I wish I could say I found it myself...
It was located in the center of town. Down a little walkway named Matoyianni street. One of the main walkways in Mykonos Town. We entered and left through the side entrance as it connected directly with the main desk (we never saw anyone at it). The front entrance went through a bar area that was quite homey. The side entrance had a breakfast terrace with beautiful wicker furniture. Because we were off season breakfast was not offered. It worked for us as it was a little cheaper. This little motel had 25 rooms. Tiny and intimate. Our actual room was unique and unusual. The lady that showed us the room said they had remodeled recently and all of the the rooms were a little different but had a designer touch. The ceiling of the room had indirect light coming out of a huge circle. The head board had a matching light. It was absolutley charming. The bathroom area was unique also. The sink was shaped like triangle and the shower was the entire tiled room (sometimes this doesn't work but it did here as the room was larg enough not to soak everything.) The room had a refrigerator and a large closet with a safe. It also had a fair sized desk and a dressing table. At night the street was rocking.... but our room in the back was perfectly quiet. Even on the tiny balcony it was quiet. When we did our wash we hung our laundry on the balcony as it was overlooking an unused overgrown garden area. It was perpetually shady in the area so it wasn't used when we were visiting. I thought I would like a motel with a view but we felt very happy with the locate, personnell and bed of this room. We will likely stay there again when we visit. matoyanni@mykonos-accommodation.com P.O. Box 58 - 84600 Mykonos - GREECE .... This motel is open year around but for stays less than three days they request you write to ask. We paid 50 euro per night with no breakfast. We felt that it was a good value for the room we got. |
