Great Denver Deli May 10, 2010
The Market is an independently owned Deli type shop. It is a great place to stop in for a quick bite or a great cup of coffee if you are in the Denver area. There are tons of different options for picky groups.

The Market began as a downtown mom and pop grocery in 1978. By 1983 The Market had been transformed into a homey, delicious deli. The owners were also huge forces in the preservation of the Larimer Square area that is a popular and historic destination in Denver today.

The Market puts an emphasis on freshly prepared foods made and served on the premises. They have great sandwiches, hot plate items such as potatoes and chicken, a WONDERFUL and fresh salad bar, and delicious coffee bar with amazing pastries. The Market has a large selection of cheeses and pates as well as an extensive selection of crackers and specialty cooking items.

The Market was the first espresso bar between New York and Los Angeles, eighteen years before it became trendy to open a coffee house on every corner and several years before the fashionable Starbucks chain.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The place reminds me of a family owned deli you would find in New York or New Jersey.

There is plenty of seating and great sidewalk tables to enjoy when the weather is nice.

I recommend any of their specialty sandwiches. The Rueben is killer! With such a great location, The Market would be a perfect place to grab lunch while enjoying downtown Denver!
