Stepping Back in Time (In a Very Good Way!) Jun 07, 2016
Hidden Gem! This is a beautiful older Art Deco hotel in a great location. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. There's a doorman which I always appreciate when traveling alone. There is a bar and a very comfortable room with a warm gas fireplace, comfortable seating and a counter where coffee, tea and expresso drinks are offered (self serve).

I stayed in room 801. It was clean, nicely appointed, comfortable and very quiet. I love that the doors don't slam. It's a huge peeve of mine.

A breakfast is offered but I had other plans. I highly recommend this hotel. The only thing I missed was a small refrigerator. It is something they may offer if requested but I didn't bother since I was only staying for the night.

Awesome Location, not bad for price Jun 26, 2009
I didn't book this place, my friend did. Knowing nothing about New York before visiting, I'd say that she did an excellent job! The Mansfield is a hop, skip, and jump away from everything pretty much. It's right between 5th and 6th avenues on 44th street. It's about 2-3 blocks away from the Empire State building as well as Times Square; and let's not forget about the shopping on 5th avenue! The service was awesome as everyone was so nice and helpful. We got free breakfast vouchers when we booked, so look for that if you can swing it!

The Mansfield Overview

Mansfield owns a perfectly balanced spot in the heart of Manhattan, offering an appealing launch point for all guests, business or pleasure. One of the oldest hotels in New York, it is surrounded by the gourmet and Broadway districts, the historical Club Row, Soho, Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, Central Park, Bryant Park, and thriving corporate and business venues. Mansfield is 3 blocks from Grand Central Station, 13 miles from LaGuardia Airport, and offers car parking for $45 per 24 hour allotment with valet service available for a fee.

The 126 guestrooms at Mansfield are primped for comfort, offering pillow top mattresses, IHome docks, color televisions with satellite TV, mini bars, and complimentary Aveda body products. Many of these guestrooms are named for beloved literary figures.

Mansfield has been carefully and meticulously restored to reflect the theme of the building which it occupies; it is an impressive and charming mid-sized hotel with an in house restaurant and lounge area proudly known as M Bar.
