Very nice hostel that accommodates guests needs Mar 02, 2013
Located in the gringolandia neighborhood of Quito. Within walking distance to many restaurants, hot spots, and nightlife. Very friendly staff that were accommodating. Along with three friends, we had a private room with two sets of bunk beds. Shared bathroom with other guests. It was clean and we felt safe. My favorite part was the cafe, and fresh fruit smoothies every morning along with my cafe con leche. Also sandwiches and other good food items. Highly recommended!

Awesome stay!

Friendly, clean & affordable Jun 09, 2011
Stayed here in August 2010 for one night after coming back from the rainforest. Though there are cheaper hostels in the area, this one had super friendly staff and it was really clean.

The staff helped my friend and I figure out how to take public transit to Old Town and they also helped us get to the bus stop when we were heading down to Guayaquil. I think the great service alone was worth paying like a dollar more at the Magic Bean than at the other hostels.

Our stay included breakfast and it was a pretty big meal. I would highly recommend staying at this hostel!

Magic Bean complete with bluegrass music May 02, 2011
The big draw of “The Bean” is its american style atmosphere, fantastic coffee, attentive staff and quality restaurant. If you are traveling and yearning for a bit of home this is a great place to go. With Wifi, bluegrass music and smoothies it is also an excellent spot to get online and even get a little work done. The rooms are basic but the beds are heavenly and there is plenty of scalding hot water for the cold quito nights. This is a favorite spot of tourists with good reason and its not just their delicious cheesecake!
