The Lofts Apartments Queenstown Reviews
Fantastic location but noisy Sep 17, 2011
We booked a budget self contained unit at the Lofts- unit 101
The location of this apartment is fantastic! It is by the Lower Shotover Street where we walked to the left was the main shopping street and when we walked to the right; we would be heading to Lake Wakatipu!
The reception staff was friendly; she gave us all the informations we needed.
The unit was basic but is great for 2persons. The set up of this unit is a little weird: the minute we entered the unit, it was the bed, and closet. Then further more was a living room with a small TV and a not-so-comfortable sofa with a coffee table. Then there was a dinning table and chairs next to the TV. The end of the unit would be the kitchenette. Then bathroom was next to the kitchen.
The queen size bed was clean and comfortable however no heater in that area, there were two heater in the middle of the unit which is by the sofa, we got very warm sitting at the sofa but not so warm in the bed.
The kitchen has almost everything except one very important thing to us- the coffee plunger.
The bathroom was clean with enough amenities but the walk in shower was also weird to me, it was about 1.5 feet tall from the ground, I meant we had to "climb" 1.5feet into the shower. The toilet has more than enough space where we could see it was such a waste of space while it could have fit in a washer and dryer!
There was no free wireless internet in the unit and you had to buy a wireless Internet card from other lodge (they don't sell them anymore) A DVD rental will be NZD5 per night. Guest laundry by the reception and it is NZD2 each.( washer and dryer) The parking is free however they are limited space. There is a outdoor spa and sauna but we never use them.
One negative point though, because our unit is by the street, we could hear almost every car the drove by and the people who walked by. There was a night we heard a few loud bangs that I thought were from gun shots but Charlie thought it was the drunken kids banging on the cars by the street.
Overall is still good considering the location and the price. We will definitely return to this motel if we visit Queenstown again.
