awesome Irish pub Aug 08, 2008
The Local is a fun Irish pub in downtown Minneapolis with a great atmosphere. They have little booth rooms where you sit at a large booth and you feel like you're in a separate room. They also have a "board room" which is a long room with a long table, a tv, and even doors that close! This was the only area open, so we took it, even though we only filled half the table. This is a great room for larger parties. Everyone walks by and thinks you must be important to be in there.

Upstairs has a nice sitting area with couches and I think even a pool table or two (I mean billiards). The balcony up there overlooks the bar down below. The bar has a another half on the other side of the wall behind the bar with more seating. They even have a cool room called the hallow with a low rounded cieling for private parties (it looks like you're in a subway). And the highlight to some is the kissing room! With dim red lights and a couch, its the perfect place for kissing or breaking up (as was happening with one couple that night). This is another great place to hang out.

There is outdoor seating and they serve food, too, but we didn't eat because it was LATE when we were there. I definitely want to go back for dinner sometime!

…renowned venues do have big budgets and access to talent from New York, Chicago, and London (still frequently discussed within the local theatre community is the Old Guthrie production of Virginia Woolf featuring Patrick Stewart and Mercedes Ruehl), Minneapolis also has a huge local population of talented performers in smaller venues. In the past three days, I've seen as many outstanding shows in different genres… Theatre

Local http://www.the-local.com/ , an Irish Pub just a stone's throw from Britt's. It seemed that half of Britt's patrons had this same idea. So at the Local, we shared conversations and drinks with those we had already met at Britt's, and with… Journey North to Lutefisk and Lefsa

Famished, we walked the three blocks down to my local area of St Anthony Park's downtown area, past the local supermarket, bank, post office, dentist, auto repair shop, jewelry store, antique shops, and finally to Dunn Brother's  Coffee Shop. A part of the store is a Finnish… Jaeger Jousting at Blarney's Pub and Moose Country

Hey, it's good to have local contacts because I will return some day.  Anyway, I couldn't keep the smile off my face, but some of my family still fell for it.  I got a panicked text from one of my sisters.  Mardi Gras was truly… My crime you ask? Flirting with an officer

I would remember the good times during the "how drunk were we last night", rather than just heading up to the local landmark and taking a photo. So not having any clear destination we went driving around... where exactly you ask? I honestly have no clue...   but last night was catching up to me in full force, helping Mike out, I chose to take… JagerBombs and Amanda...
