The Loaf has a number of outlets in KL, and the one I went to was in Avenue K.

C-3, Avenue K

156, Jalan Ampang

50560 Kuala Lumpur

Tel :+603 2181 8991

This place was surprisingly 'empty' when I visited over lunch time. I have always thought (and made believe) that they're very pricey, so I didn't really bother to check this place out. I went there thinking I could satisfy my craving for Tomyum, only to find out that they've actually changed the menu. Tough luck.

Anyway, yes, indeed, their drinks are very expensive. A simple can of coke costs MYR 7 (about USD 2.20), and they don't have free flow of skyjuice on the house. Coffee costs abour MYR 10 in average, and juice around MYR 12 and above.

Surprisingly, their pastry and main course are not as expensive as their drinks. With average of MYR 15, you could get a decent plate of chicken curry with rice. Taste wise, just ok, but not to die for. I'd say, average price for the brand name and location, but expensive for the taste. Makes sense? More often than not, they have discoutns for their pastries, so it's actually quite reasonable.

Service is slightly above average. Ambiance is bearable (noise).

Overall, nothing to complain (apart for the price of Coke), but it didn't give me any lasting impressions either. No wow factor and nothing to draw me back to this place for a second time.

Champange Fromage bread from The loaf Feb 09, 2011
Whenever i went to Kuala Lumpur, i would go for the champange fromage bread. It's so juicy and it's nice! you gonna fall in love with it. it you're a bread lover.

The shop was own by the former prime minister in malaysia, and he's really work out this very well. Eventhough the bread sell in the shop ain't cheap, but with the price you pay for it, you could get the thing you pay for. so it's really worth it.

The bread texture, was so good. The ingredients in the bread, they have some cream cheese(not melted, which is awesome),dried mango, mixed nut and dried fruits. Love it!
