Lion House Lunch at Temple Square Feb 27, 2014
While visiting Temple Square, I stopped by the Lion House Pantry for lunch as it was recommended by a few guidebooks. I'll give the books the benefit of the doubt that my visit wasn't as amazing as theirs.

The food was okay and the plate was full, so no one who eats here will go hungry. (Entrees are about $15 and include a meat option, two sides and a roll.) That everything is made on-site is a plus, but I found the food to be rather bland. Not even the supposedly famous rolls were all that special compared to what I've had elsewhere.

Where the Lion House does do an amazing job is with desserts. Everything offered looked so delicious that I had trouble picking just one. The banana cream pie I had was one of the best slices I've ever eaten.

Knowing what I know now, if I ever find myself back in Salt lake City I will try someplace else for lunch but leave a whole lot of room for another slice of pie from the Lion House.
